22nd Annual Teddy Bear Ride To Benefit the Children Patients of Marietta Area Hospitals
The local Chapter A3 of the Goldwing Road Riders will be holding their 22nd Annual Fund Raiser for the Marietta Area Teddy Bear Fund on Saturday, May 30, at Hometown Honda on Rt. 7 North, located between Marietta & Reno, Ohio. Riders will be arriving at 10 a.m. and line up will begin at 12:45.
Instead of donated stuffed animals as the riders have donated in the past, any monetary donation to the Fund is requested to participate in the ride; but you can still strap your favorite furry friend to your bike and take it on the ride.
The ride is open to all types of road legal motor vehicles whether 2, 3, or 4 wheeled vehicles. Hometown Honda will be open for participants to look over their vehicles and accessories and provide hotdogs and drinks before the ride begins. The actual time to pull out on the ride will be at 1:00 p.m., lasting until 2:30 p.m. when riders will arrive back at Marietta Memorial Hospital. At the hospital will be a fifty/fifty drawing, several auction items to be sold, and monetary donations given to the Marietta Area Fund.
The Marietta Area Teddy Bear Fund provides over 1,000 stuffed animals annually to both area hospitals to children, ages 6 months to 12 years old, admitted into the hospital or traumatized cases in the ER. Anyone interested in making a donation or learning more about the fund can contact Anna Vukovic, (740) 374-1779.
This year’s ride is taking on a rural flavor. We will be riding through the Germantown area and back through the Dalzell and Stanleyville communities. We will be riding rain or shine. If any questions, contact Chet Mackey at (740) 376-7158.
