“Memorial Health System to Hold Esophageal Cancer Awareness Event”

(March 31, 2016, Marietta, Ohio) –
In honor of Esophageal Cancer Awareness month, the Memorial Health System invites you to a program on Thursday, April 28, 2016 from 5:30 – 7:00p.m. at The Blennerhassett Hotel (320 Market Street, Parkersburg, W.Va.). Persistent heartburn or gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) can be not only a symptom of, but also a risk factor for developing esophageal cancer. Dr. Roman Petrov, Thoracic/General Surgery, and Dr. Anish Chopra, Gastroenterology, will be speaking at the event. Please join us for a free community program to discuss how small symptoms like heartburn, difficulty swallowing or persistent cough can be signs of a bigger problem such as esophageal cancer. A light meal will be provided. This event is free to the community, but seating is limited, so please call (740) 568-4731 to register or for additional details.
