Memorial Health System’s Doctor Ratings
(May 24, 2017, Marietta, Ohio) –
In today’s healthcare environment, we know patients have lots of choices. There is a new era of consumerism in healthcare and in today’s well-connected world, most consumers can use reviews or ratings to help them make decisions about where and what to buy. When patients are choosing a hospital or a provider, they can do the same thing and consult hospital and provider ratings.
We’re embracing that across our system. We recently launched the ratings and reviews our patients give their visits to their doctor in their offices each day. They can be found under the Find a Provider section of our website mhsystem.org/findaprovider.
The ratings are pulled from the NRC Connect surveys our patients receive after their provider appointments in the clinics. These surveys help ensure we are holding ourselves to the highest standards and measuring all aspects of patient satisfaction.
Comments from the reviews are also shared on the site. Industry best practice is clear that more data provides a more accurate rating. This is why we require a minimum of 30 completed patient surveys per provider before the ratings and comments will go live. Over time, with more surveys received on an ongoing basis, the number of rated providers will increase. Ratings and comments are updated weekly to ensure the most up-to-date, accurate information is available.
Because these feed directly from our surveys, patients who have completed a survey after a recent visit to a clinic are the only comments provided. Individuals cannot go live and post their comment at this time. Both positive and negative comments are shared, however patient names and other identifiable information are removed before sharing online ratings and commentary reviews.
We’re pleased with the relationships that our physicians have with their patients. We’re also proud to tell you that as of this writing, our doctor’s ratings average 4.8 out of 5 stars.
Memorial Health System is committed to providing the information our community needs to make important decisions about your health care. Understanding how other patients feel about their experience should help you feel more confident in choosing the right provider. It’s just one more step in our ongoing work to be in the top 10 percent in the nation in patient satisfaction. Congratulations doctors!
