Our expert gastroenterologists are trained to diagnose and treat problems in your gastrointestinal (GI) tract and liver. We offer healthy, age-appropriate patients the flexibility to take control of their GI health with our open access colonoscopy service to schedule a screening colonoscopy. This program allows our patients to bypass the pre-procedure visit to our office. To schedule an open access colonoscopy call the 24 Hour Nurse Line at (844) 474-6522.
A colonoscopy is advised for all average-risk patients, age 50 and older, as a method of colon cancer screening. Patients with significant illnesses (i.e. poorly controlled diabetes, significant cardiac disease, severe breathing problems, and kidney problems) should schedule a consultation prior to the procedure.
Patients can also be referred to the Department of Gastroenterology for a screening colonoscopy. Once your provider's referral is received, our office schedules you for a phone interview with an advanced practice provider. They will discuss past medical history or ongoing problems. Once complete, our staff will review your medical history, obtain a prescription for the bowel preparation, and call you to receive final instructions for the colonoscopy.
