John lives in Harrisville, WV, with his wife of 45 years. His family bought his farm in 1950, and he enjoys working and hunting on the farm, as well as the peace and the quiet.
While sighting in rifles with a group of his friends, John fell crossing a fence and broke five ribs. Once he went to the hospital, the doctor found a gigantic hiatal hernia. The surgeon at Memorial Health System told John he could do minimally invasive surgery.
After the surgery, John was up and about that same day, and had no pain. He was released after only two nights in the hospital. John said how wonderful the hospital and the people were, and that the surgery was a tremendous success. John lives his life to the fullest.
