Community Health Needs Assessment
Memorial Health System completes a health needs assessment every three years to evaluate the health of the community, identify high-priority health needs, and develop strategies to address the needs of the community. The Community Health Needs Assessment represents a combination of quantitative and qualitative information based on census data, the Ohio Department of Health, Community Health Council surveys, and more.
WashCo Health Partners Invite Public Comment on 2024 Community Health Assessment Report
A draft of the 2024 Washington County Community Health Assessment (CHA) Report is available for public comment. All Washington County residents and community health partners are encouraged to review the CHA report and provide feedback. Public comment is open through Friday, July 12th.

What is the Washington County Community Health Assessment?
The goal of the CHA is to provide an accurate view of the health status, needs, and resources of Washington County, Ohio. The CHA combines information from local, state, and national sources into one document. The CHA serves as a guide for community health programs, coordination of resources, policy changes, funding opportunities, and behavior change. The CHA was created through the collaborative efforts of public health partners across Washington County. This group of partners, named WashCo Health Partners, is led by Memorial Health System, Washington County Health Department, and the Marietta/Belpre Health Department.
What the CHA Report Reveals
As a result of this research, three priority areas emerged for Washington County:
- Priority Area 1: Mental/Behavioral Health and Addiction
- Priority Area 2: Prevention and Management of Chronic Disease
- Priority Area 3: Access to Healthcare and Healthcare-Related Programs
