A slow-growing, rare type of blood cell cancer that begins in bone marrow.


Description

Chronic myelogenous leukemia usually happens in older adults. It occurs when changes happen in bone marrow cells. It’s not clear what causes the process.


Overview

Symptoms may include bone pain, easy bleeding, feeling full after eating little food, feeling very tired, fever and weight loss.

Treatments include targeted medicines, chemotherapy and bone marrow transplant, also called stem cell transplant.
