A disorder causing inflammation and bleeding in the small blood vessels.
Description
Henoch-Schönlein purpura affects the small blood vessels of the skin, joints, intestines, and kidneys. It’s most common before age 7 but can affect anyone.
Overview
Symptoms include reddish-purple spots on the lower extremities, swollen, sore joints, abdominal pain, or bloody urine.
Symptoms
The condition usually resolves, but serious high blood pressure and kidney complications can occur.
