Condition in which the eyes don’t look in the same direction at the same time.
Description
Crossed eyes, called strabismus, has many causes. In children, it is usually caused by poor eye muscle control and may be more common with farsightedness.
Overview
In addition to eyes that are not aligned, symptoms in children may include squinting or complaints of seeing double.
Symptoms
Crossed eyes can usually be corrected with treatment. Treatment options to align the eyes include glasses, vision therapy and surgery.
