Carne asada

Serves 4

Tip: Maggi seasoning sauce is a dark, vegetable-based sauce. It’s similar to soy sauce but contains no soy.

  1. Trim excess fat from 1 pound skirt steak.
  2. Add 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce.
  3. Add 1/4 cup olive oil.
  4. Add juice of 2 limes.
  5. Add 2 tablespoons minced garlic.
  6. Add 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro.
  7. Add 1 tablespoon Maggi seasoning sauce.
  8. Add 1 tablespoon sugar.
  9. Marinate for 4 hours.
  10. Cook for 2 to 4 minutes per side.
  11. Cut into 2-inch thick pieces.
  12. Sprinkle 1/4 teaspoon Kosher salt.
