Q&A about Memorial Health System’s Membership in the Mayo Clinic Care Network
In August, Memorial Health System became the 46th Mayo Clinic Care Network member. This was a comprehensive evaluation process, one that included an in-depth review of our organization, clinical business practices, quality, safety processes, and service efforts.
The Mayo Clinic Care Network is a collection of high-quality, independent health organizations that have been carefully vetted by Mayo Clinic and chosen to enter a clinically meaningful relationship that allows our organization to access Mayo Clinic knowledge, resources and expert opinions to better care for patients.
What does this relationship mean for the communities we serve?
“This is an incredibly important relationship. Memorial Health System as a local, independent, regional health system aspires to be great, world-class, and there is nothing more important than to borrow and leverage the expertise of Mayo Clinic through Mayo Clinic Care Network.”
Scott Cantley, Memorial Health System President and CEO
Is there a cost for the services to patients?
“This is a great benefit and there is absolutely no cost to the patient for the services provided by Memorial Health System being a member of the Mayo Clinic Care Network.”
Dan Breece, DO, FACEP, Memorial Health System Vice President of Physician Services and Chief Medical Officer
How will this support our nurses and the clinical care teams as they work with patients?
“Day to day, our nurses and clinical care teams will have access to tools like AskMayoExpert right at their fingertips. This provides informative, evidence-based care that allows patients to receive top-notch patient education on disease states or medication.”
Paige Smith, Vice President of Patient Care Services and Chief Nurse Executive
