LiveMemorialWell Series: Farmacy WV Coming to Tyler County!
Sistersville General Hospital of Memorial Health System is teaming up with our local farmers, the West Virginia Department of Agriculture, WVU, WV Farmers Market Association, Grow Ohio Valley, and many others to bring the FARMacy WV program to Tyler County!
This year-long program is a unique opportunity that combines education in lifestyle change principles, healthy cooking classes, guided exercise programs, and a summer of fresh weekly produce for participants! The FARMacy WV program targets chronic diseases and their risk factors such as diabetes, prediabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, overweight, and obesity.
Join us on June 15th at the First Presbyterian Church (801 Chelsea Street) in Sistersville, West Virginia from 10: 30 a.m. – 1 p.m. for our first produce distribution and activity session of the season! Participants will have the chance to visit with partners, meet other participants, and get a taste of what living a healthy lifestyle is all about! FARMacyWV, Memorial Health System, Grow Ohio Valley, the West Virginia Department of Agriculture, and other partners will be hosting activities including a cooking class, group movement session, and more all to better the lives of our West Virginia residents! (Produce distribution begins at 11 a.m. with education sessions to follow.)
