Memorial Health Foundation Donates $3,000 to the American Red Cross Blood Saves Lives Fighting Cancer Initiative

Memorial Health Foundation (MHF) proudly announces its grant of $3,000 to the American Red Cross. This grant demonstrates Memorial Health Foundation’s commitment to supporting organizations dedicated to enhancing healthcare right here in the Mid-Ohio Valley.

“We have always been active with the health system and are very thrilled to have this partnership,” says Sharon Kesselring, Executive Director of the American Red Cross of the Ohio River Valley.

Sharon connected with Memorial Health Foundation with an ask to support the Blood Saves Lives Fighting Cancer initiative through the American Red Cross. Memorial Health Foundation’s board of trustees voted to award the grant because of the important role the American Red Cross plays in patient care within our health system and throughout our region.

Behind the initiative, the grant will support the collection and processing of blood products for those in need in the area. “As we are collecting blood throughout the entire area, not just Memorial Health System. We can take that blood, process it, get it into a distribution system, and have it available for patients fighting cancer when they need it.”

Presenting the grant to the American Red Cross at Memorial Health System’s first blood drive of 2024 were Julie Dye and Jill Deming of Memorial Health Foundation.
