Memorial Health Foundation’s Annual Golf Outing Raises Nearly $60,000 to Support Local Patients
Memorial Health Foundation (MHF) is proud to announce that their annual golf outing, held on May 17th, raised nearly $60,000 to support members of our community through the funding of internal grants—a new record for the event!
The golf outing, which had previously benefitted Selby General Hospital for over 20 years, was reimagined this year to support Memorial Health System (MHS) entirely by directing the funds raised towards internal grants for specific projects or equipment that will benefit patient experience within the health system. Past projects funded include an exoskeleton to aid in patient mobility, a pediatric simulator to help with medical training, and an ultrasound machine to assist with diagnostic testing.
This year, the golf outing was a stunning success with 28 teams participating in a day filled with food, raffles, and various golf-related challenges. Bob Chase, a member of the MHS golf committee shared his thoughts on the event saying, “I have supported this golf outing for a long time, and it just keeps getting better each year. It’s always fun to have the chance to win the skill prizes on each hole or maybe even $40,000 with a hole-in-one!”
Memorial Health Foundation would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to everyone involved in making this event possible—from the golfers and sponsors to the volunteers and committee members, every role played a vital part in helping support the health of our community. MHF would also like to express special thanks to their top sponsors for the event: HELP Financial, RevSpring, Peoples Bank, Platinum Companies, and Cherry Bekaert.
