Memorial Health System Announces Athens Medical Campus Community Open House
Memorial Health System (MHS) is proud to announce that on June 13th at 7 a.m., their Athens Medical Campus Emergency Department (ED), located at 206 Columbus Road, Athens, Ohio, will be open and available to provide medical services to the public.
To celebrate the grand opening of this new facility, Memorial Health System invites interested community members to attend their upcoming open house on May 29th from 5 – 7 p.m. Light refreshments provided by The Changed Plate will be available, and visitors will have the opportunity to tour the emergency department before its June 13th opening.
Since October of 2023, Athens County has been the center of much excitement for Memorial Health System as the construction of their newest facility began with the arrival of the first of 204 MODLOGIQ modules from New Holland, Pennsylvania. Athens Medical Campus is the largest healthcare facility in North America built using smart off-site construction, and MHS is excited to see how they can continue to grow healthcare in the Athens community.
While the facility has four floors, only the first (emergency department) will be operating as of June 13th. This 13-room ED is fully equipped with technology and resources such as lab services, x-ray, CT scanning, and ultrasound—offering patients the opportunity to receive treatment for a wide range of emergency conditions including pain, stroke, broken bones, cuts, burns, and more.
Memorial Health System is eager to further expand the already robust network of primary and specialty services they have established in the Athens Community, which is why they will be gradually opening services on the other three floors as the year progresses. “We are driven to build great healthcare that allows people to have local access to the services that we do very well,” says Memorial Health System President and CEO, Scott Cantley. “We can’t wait for patients to experience the new facility and the care we provide, enabling them to stay closer to home.”
In the coming months, Memorial Health System’s primary care providers that are already within the Athens area will be joined by providers specializing in cardiology, endocrinology, ENT (ear, nose, and throat), general surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, ophthalmology, podiatry, pulmonology, and rheumatology.
