Memorial Health System Earns National Recognition for Promoting Organ, Eye, and Tissue Donation

Memorial Health System is proud to announce that Marietta Memorial Hospital has earned national recognition for its efforts to increase organ, eye, and tissue donor registrations through the 2024 DoNation Campaign.

The Campaign challenges organizations to educate their staff, visitors, and communities about the critical need for organ, eye, and tissue donation, including offering opportunities to register as organ donors. Marietta Memorial Hospital earned Gold recognition for conducting awareness and registry activities between October 1, 2023 and September 30, 2024.

The Campaign is a national initiative that unites the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration, and the organ donation community with workplaces across the nation to spread the word about the importance of donation. Marietta Memorial Hospital worked with Lifeline of Ohio to leverage its outreach efforts.

Lifeline of Ohio: Founded in 1984, Lifeline of Ohio is an independent, non-profit organization, that promotes and coordinates the donation of human organs and tissue for transplantation. Lifeline of Ohio serves 97 hospitals and facilities in 38 counties in Ohio and two in West Virginia and is designated as an organ procurement organization through the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services
