Working Together: Memorial Health System and Mayo Clinic Care Network - Susan Knotts. BSN, RN
Susan Knotts, BSN, RN, and Clinical Nurse Manager of Memorial Health System’s Women and Newborn Unit has been with the health system, acting as a nurse manager, for 21 dedicated years. Susan’s latest introduction to the Women and Newborn Unit is the Nitronox 50/50 system. To implement Nitronox on the floor and to put it in the hands of patients, it was Susan’s responsibility to create a safe process in which it could be used. This could be a taxing duty, putting hours of research and creativity into it.
However, because Memorial Health System is a member of the Mayo Clinic Care Network, Susan was able to submit a tool readily available to her—Health Care Consulting. She submitted her project to an expert at Mayo Clinic, who worked with her to send over research and Mayo Clinic’s practice and procedure for Nitronox 50/50
