What is an Orthopaedic Provider?

As an orthopaedic (ortho) provider, Dr. Tokodi is trained in diagnosing and treating conditions that affect the musculoskeletal system. Specialty areas of orthopaedics include the spine, joints, hands, feet, sports medicine, and trauma surgery. Ortho providers focus on restoring the function of injured patients and getting them back to being active with surgical and/or nonsurgical options.

Education and Experience

George Tokodi, DO has lived in the Marietta and Parkersburg area since August 1987 after graduating from his residency. This is the only area where he has ever practiced orthopaedics. Prior to his orthopaedic practice, he had two years in the public health service in a general medical office as a family medical doctor. During his residency, he visited Selby General Hospital and moonlighted in the emergency room on holidays and occasional weekends. Dr. Tokodi was the team physician for Marietta College for over 20 years and has actively participated in the educational process at Marietta College, for both Athletic Trainers and Physician’s Assistants. He also has appointments at West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine and Ohio University as an affiliate faculty. His focus has been general orthopaedics with an emphasis on adult reconstructive surgery and hand surgery.
