Open Access Colonoscopy
We offer healthy, age-appropriate ways for patients to take control of their GI health with our open access colonoscopy service. We advise a screening colonoscopy for all average-risk patients, age 50 and older, as a method of colon cancer screening. This program allows patients to bypass the pre-procedure visit to our office. To schedule an open access colonoscopy, call our FREE 24 Hour Nurse Line at (844) 474-6522.
Patients with one or more of these health issues should schedule a consultation with a GI specialist prior to the procedure:
- Kidney problems
- Poorly controlled diabetes
- Severe breathing problems
- Significant cardiac disease
Patients can also be referred to the Department of Gastroenterology for a screening colonoscopy. Once a provider’s referral is received, we will schedule a phone interview with an advanced practice provider. They will discuss past medical history or ongoing problems. Once complete, our staff will review the patient’s medical history, obtain a prescription for the bowel preparation, and call the patient to receive final instructions for the colonoscopy.
Why Choose Us
Comprehensive, Expert Team
No matter the GI condition, we have an expert on staff to provide effective treatment options. Our GI specialists are highly trained in their field, and ready to provide world-class treatment to our patients.
Compassionate Patient-Centered Care
We focus on providing patient/family-centered care. Our GI providers take the time to get to know each patient, their complete health situation, and their treatment goals. We involve patients at each step of the care process, and always keep them informed of what’s happening with their health care plan.
Coordinated Care with Specialty Providers
When needed, our GI team can work to coordinate care with other specialty providers across the Memorial Health System network. We work to streamline care so patients can focus on getting well, instead of spending lots of time coordinating medical appointments and specialists.
