Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

Our Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department is comprised of board-certified specialists who focus on evaluating and treating specific forms of acute (short-term) pain and chronic (long-term) pain. Our goal is to help reduce pain and empower our patients to go about their daily activities with more range of motion and less discomfort. Our team of specialty physical providers focus on improving quality of life for people who have had an injury or illness that affects their brain, nerves, bones, spinal cord, joints, ligaments, tendons, or muscles.

After a consultation, our team begins to develop a treatment plan customized to each patient’s needs and overall goals of care. Our treatment plans include a variety of conservative treatments including physical therapy, non-narcotic pain medications, and some interventional treatment options as well. We are dedicated to listening to each patient and guiding them through the journey to decrease pain and to improve function and quality of life. Our providers see patients at Marietta Memorial Hospital but utilize our Belpre campus specifically for procedures. You may also see our providers in the rehab unit at Selby General Hospital.

Bursitis (painful swelling of small sacs around your joints)
Carpal tunnel syndrome, or CTS (compressed nerve in the wrist that causes pain, tingling, or numbness in your hand)
Cervical dystonia (involuntary spasms of your neck muscles that causes the head to turn to one side)
Cervical radiculopathy (pinched nerve in your neck)

Lumbar radiculopathy (pinched nerve in the lower back)

Tarsal tunnel syndrome, or TTS (damage to the tibial nerve, located in your ankle)
Tendonitis (swelling of a tendon, which attaches your muscle to bone)
Thoracic radiculopathy (pinched nerve in the upper back)

Botox (Botulinum toxin injections to treat migraine and chronic headache, cervical dystonia, spastic torticollis, and spasticity in the upper and lower extremities)
Epidural steroid injections (delivered to the epidural space, an area of the spine in the lower back)
Facet (joints between the bones of the spine) injections
Joint injections
Medial branch blocks (injections to treat the nerves )
Occipital nerve injections (used to treat problems with the nerves that run through your scalp)
Peripheral nerve injections (used to treat problems with the nerves just outside your brain or spinal cord)
Sphenopalatine ganglion block, or SPG (delivered to an area of nerves behind the nose to help reduce headache pain)
Trigger point injection, or TPI (delivered to the area of muscles or nerves that are causing pain or other symptoms)
Ultrasound-guided injections (medication injected using imaging guidance for precision delivery)
